Conquer Sugar Addiction with Super-Herbs!

Uncategorized Jul 30, 2020

Sugar is bad. You know.

Despite knowing better, you’re still fighting the sugar battle every time your kids grab a cookie, every time you push your cart past the ice cream aisle, or every day at 4:00 pm when no one’s looking.

Our Western diet has been built around sugar and complex carbohydrates, and for many of us, the idea of a cookie or a ‘treat’ was the reward we got for good behavior. And for many adults, it’s still a comforting, rewarding, connecting act of self-love to sit down with a cupcake or scoop of ice cream after a long day.

But it’s never without guilt because we KNOW sugar is bad for us. Really Bad. What many adults don’t know is that sugar and complex carbs are very difficult to resist. Not because we’re all food weaklings, but because according to new studies, these sugar and complex carbs are as addictive as many recreational drugs, which explains why detoxing from sugar and carbs feels like it might be easier if we were isolated somewhere in a padded room.

We want to overcome our addiction to sweets. We know our blood sugar levels spike every time we eat something sweet, and we KNOW that Diabetes is skyrocketing. And we don’t want to live a shortened lifespan because we couldn’t resist those [email protected]# cupcakes.

But how do we win this battle?

Good news - Mother Nature has your back.

I’ll share these super-herbs, all scientifically studied and proven to reduce or block the damage that sugar is delivering to your organs and brain. I’ll walk through the exciting statistics on each herb’s ability to guard you, your liver, and your brain from the addictive effects as you develop a healthier relationship with sweets, and gain mastery over your food choices.

Ratios are included as we introduce each herb - as many of you love to combine these herbs to re-create our formulas. This one - a gift from us to your blood sugar level.

Codonopsis Pilosula - 1 part

This beauty hails from the East and has been identified as a hypoglycemic modulator, with the ability to improve insulin resistance. Most impressive in this study was the ability of Codonopsis to slow the progression of diabetes by increasing Aldose reductase activity. It’s just flat-out magic.

Curcuma Longa (Curcumin) - 1 part

The American Diabetes Association published a study about Curcumins' ability to guard against the development of Type 2 diabetes. In a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial, 240 people, all confirmed with pre-diabetes, were given either curcumin or a placebo every day for nine months. At the end of nine months, 16% of the placebo group had developed full-blown Diabetes. After the same nine months, none (0%)  of the Curcumin group developed Type 2 Diabetes.

Date Palm Seed  (Phoenix Dactylifera Seed) 1.5 part

Arabic folk medicine used Date Palm seeds to manage diabetes for thousands of years. As scientific studies are happening more and more often to test the effectiveness of herbs, researchers were surprised that Date Palm Seed ‘Significantly reduced Glucose, Urea, Creatinine, ALT, and AST, TBARS while improving the health of the kidney and liver'.

Gymnema Sylvestre (Gurmar) 3 parts

Saving the best for last, Gymnema demonstrates herbal super-powers when it comes to fighting the effects of high blood sugar. In several studies, Gymnema reduced blood sugar levels for 2-4 hours after administration, comparable to the drug Glibenclamide. It’s been further studied for its potential use in Anti-Obesity products and was found to suppress weight at the same level as the drug Chitosan. I won’t data you to death, but the studies on this herb are prolific and powerful. And how much to achieve this super-power effect? 100 mg per kg of body weight daily.

There are other herbs in this category, but I chose these for their relative accessibility, and low potential for stomach upset. That said, we also use Huangqi, Nigella Sativa, and Acacia Arabica extract in formulas to reduce and control blood sugar levels.

Directions: Powder all herbs (or purchase them in a powdered state) and blend them according to the ratios above. Add two teaspoons of the powder to juice or a smoothie and drink two times daily. Use only after speaking with your health care professional.
