Herbal Medicine on YouTube?

Are you skeptical about ‘natural’ cures and home remedy videos? Yup, me too.  Don’t get me wrong, some of these videos are brilliant, and they absolutely know what they’re doing. But others, maybe not so much.

And how exactly can we tell the difference?

I’m sure you have your own method, but here’s what I do.

I look and listen for the proof.  Not ‘studies have shown’ stuff, but actual data.

Like the clinical studies that explain details about how the herbs were tested, and whether or not it was a placebo-controlled study. Was the herb tested in a test tube or on live subjects? (In vivo or in vitro?) Was it tested for effectiveness in contrast to a medication? How long ago? Where was the study conducted? Was it funded through a University or by a drug company?

When were the results published? And in what journal?

Those are a lot of questions. But, that’s what we do at Herbellum Institute. Before I create a formula, every herb is researched. First, looking at the historical use of herbs. Chinese, Ayurvedic, European, Native American Indian Herbs, RainForest, and African Herbs. Most herb books published will cover the history and the herbal knowledge that’s been passed down. These books are treasures, and I love the herbalists that have preserved these golden nuggets of ancient wisdom. For almost every herbalist, that’s where they stop, and they base their work on what other herbalists have written.

But this is where we begin. Starting with a group of herbs, we vet each one by tracking down clinical, University, and pilot studies until we single out the few, effective, scientifically proven herbs that absolutely work. In some cases, better than the medications they were tested against. Then we create a formula - a combination of those herbs to address a specific health concern.

And what does this have to do with YouTube?

We’ve made a lot of videos over the years. Demonstrations on how to create a range of herbal medicines. Our herbal demonstration videos are packed with high-quality information based on scientific research using herbs that really work. That’s all we want you to remember.

Science-based herbs that really work.
